Trouble Shootings - Sainyer Smart Projector
Q1: How to connect my laptop?
Firstly, please make sure that your laptop and the projector are connected to the same WLAN.
For Windows Laptop: go to "My APPs"--"WiFi Display" on the projector; then press “Windows Key + K" at the same time--search the “AS-Projector [Miracast]” and connect it on your laptop. (If the projector screen only shows your computer desktop, please press “Windows Key + P” at the same time on your computer to choose ”Duplication” rather than “Extension”.)
For Macbook: go to "My APPs"-- "AirScreen"on the projector; then turn on "Screen Mirroring" on Macbook and connect. Note: Different computers may have different names for the screen mirroring, please choose it with the same meaning in the settings.
Q2: What format does it support for USB flash drive?
For video format, it supports MP4/ AVI/ MOV / MKV/ FLV/ MPG/ TS/ 3GP/ VOB. For audio format, it supports AAC/ AMR/ FLAC/ M4A/ MP2/ MPGA/ OGG/ WAV.
For photo format, it supports JPEG/ BMP/ PNG/ JPG.
Q3: Alternative ways to watch videos without HDMI port?
Sainyer X8 smart projector has upgraded all devices to wireless connection. Release our customers from complicated and inconvenient cable connections.
For Smartphones or Laptops, connect them to the projector directly via wireless screen mirroring.
For Amazon TV stick applications, use the Built-in APP Store to install Prime Video, Youtube, Netflix, Disney+ etc directly in the projector for video watching.
For downloaded videos, you can copy it into the USB and play.
Q4: Why my Apps cannot open or load videos?
Please kindly make sure that the projector is connected to Wifi network successfully.
To ensure better viewing experience, we suggest that you connect the projector to your 5G WLAN. Make sure that you have download the latest version App; if not, please update it in Google Play Store.
Q5: When I open the AirScreen App, it shows “Upgrade Required”, how to fix this? Please go to the Google Play Store to download the latest version and install it. If you cannot find the Projector’s name under screen mirroring, please go to AirScreen Settings and set the Airplay as ON.
Q6: How to Reset or Update the projector?
For Projector Reset: go to “My Apps” - “Settings” - “Storage & Reset” - “Factory Data Reset” - “Erase Everything”; wait for about 1 to 3 minutes and the projector will turn on automatically after Reset.
For Projector Update: go to “My Apps” - “Settings” - “About” - “Software Update”, Click Software Update to update your projector. The whole updating process may take 3-5 minutes.
Q7: When I input the password, it shows “Invalid Password”, why?
Please make sure that your password is correctly entered, especially for passwords with a mix of letters, numbers & symbols. To make it easier to connect, we suggest that WiFi passwords was set less than 16 characters.
Please click “Next/Done” button on the keyboard to confirm. If you entered the wrong passords for over five times, the projector may enter into Protection Mode. In this case, please Reset the projector firstly, then re-connect the projector to your WLAN.
Q8: How many Apps does this projector support?
This projector has built-in Android operating system which supports over 5000 kinds of Apps including Video, Sports, News, Music, Games Apps. You can install your frequently used Apps to enjoy your favorite movies, such as Amazon prime videos, Netflix, Disney+ etc. (Note: Due to copyright issue, Hulu is not supported for Android Projectors.)
Q9: The picture quality is blurry, cannot focus, is that normal?
Please make sure that your projector is placed horizontally and adjust the keystone correctly. Then rotate the focus knob slightly until the picture is clear.
Q10: I cannot connect the projector to my Wifi network, what should I do?
Firstly, please try to turn on the hotspot of your smartphone and check if the projector can connect to your smartphone hotspot. If not, please reset the projector--erase everything and reconnect to your Wifi again.
Q11: How to adjust the projection screen size?
This projector has zoom function for you to adjust the projection size to larger or smaller per your needs, here are the steps as below:
Go to “My Apps”--”ConsoleCenter”.
Find “Zoom” to go to Zoom Adjustment.
Press Up/Down button on the remote to zoom in/out the projection size.
Q12: How to adjust the 4D keystone?
Go to “My Apps”--”ConsoleCenter”--”Trapezoid”.
Press OK button on the remote to choose 4 different angles.
Press Up/Down/Left/Right button to adjust the corresponding trapezoid angle per your needs.
Q13: Why I cannot connect it to my smartphone?
Firstly, please make sure your smartphone is connected to the same WLAN as the projector.
For iOS device, make sure to upgrade the AirScreen to the latest version under App-Google Play Store. After successfully upgrade, please ensure that AirPlay function is ON under AirScreen-Settings.
For Android device, make sure to connect it to the projector under App-WiFi Display. The miracast function differs on different brands of Android devices. Google Pixel Smartphone does not support Miracast function for projectors.
Q14: How can I navigate the settings in Netflix or other Apps?
For APPs which has a Mouse icon shown under the APP Name while download, it means you may need a mouse to fully set the APP. We have equipped the virtual mouse function with the projector. Long Press the Virtual Mouse button on the remote to fully navigate the settings.
Q15: Why it keeps shows “Warning about software counterfeiting error” before using AirScreen APP?
The “Warning” about software counterfeiting is a safety reminder, please make sure to update your AirScreen to the latest version in Google Play. If you already updated your AirScreen in Google Play, please click “Confirm” and ignore this message.
Q16: Why it does not show my screen after connecting my Laptop?
Please make sure to set the screen as the second display screen in Setting-Display of your Laptop. For laptops which use HDMI adapter to connect to the projector, please make sure to turn on the projector after HDMI cable connected. Then go to Menu-APPs-HDMI for screen display.
Q17: How to update the system to the latest version?
You can turn on the “Automatically detect new versions” and “Auto Remind System Update” so that you will get informed once the latest system is available and update it per your needs under Storage & Reset.
Q18: Cannot find the APP in both APP Store & Google Play, what can I do?
For APPs which don’t contain in APP Store or Google Play Store, you can download the APK file in website and use USB drive to install it in your reference.
